Radio Friendly: Noa Deane in the Telo Islands

FANCY a trip this year? You could do worse than Noa did in the Telo Islands, located off Sumatra these islands are less critical and sometimes less crowded than their Mentawai cousins - but boy are they fun.

Noa Deane’s Gold Coast school of surfing complete with smooth power gouges to a Nirvana classic is mana to the eyes and ear canals of all those whose teenage years were spent in the analogue early ‘90s. Noa was born in August 1994, just 6 months after the death of Kurt Cobain, making him nearly a gestationally correct (by the numbers) reincarnation of the Nirvana frontman. Almost.
