SAS’s Sewage Alert Service can tell you in real time when raw sewage is discharged onto Gorleston Beach. Sign up for your real time free sewage text at www.sas.org.uk/sewage-alert-service/. © 2014 SAS

Raw sewage can discharge from the Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) at Gorleston. If you want to know when your surf spot is polluted in real time, sign up to SAS’s Sewage Alert Service at www.sas.org.uk/sewage-alert-service/ and receive a free text when the CSOs discharge raw sewage.

The Sewage Alert Service covers over 200 beaches around England and Wales. The CSOs at Gorleston discharge into the River Yare. SAS are working with Anglian Water to ensure you know when there’s a raw sewage spill at Gorleston. Diffuse pollution can also impact the water quality at Gorleston.
