A solid south easterly swell has pulsed into Snapper Rocks and D-Bah over the past two days - and when that stretch switches on, are they the most shapely waves on the Aussie east side?
And isn't this typical? Kirra, Snapper et al light up just before the Quik Pro comp launches. It's almost as if Snapper is cursed to run in sub-par conditions when it is finally called on, with decent swells usually arriving either side of the event window.
If you can stomach the sheer throng of bodies (''sharing is caring'', says Leo Fioravanti about the recent run at Snapper) then you'd have been in the mix for a 5.5ft@11 seconds swell on Wednesday, and similar yesterday – though with stronger, more easterly winds. That isn't a bad thing, helping to groom those head high tubes, which we love to see in full frame, as we're sure you do too.
As the circus is in town, it's no surprise this recent run was sampled by an all-star cast including Parko, Caio Ibelli, Sage Erickson, Conner Coffin, Malia Manuel, Leo Fioravanti, Mick Fanning (attempting a Mason Ho style shortboard cross step, we see you) and more – as caught by lensman Juan Medina.
The best thing? Looks like there's still more to come today. Stay tuned.
