JORDY Smith gew up in Durban, famous for its barrelling New Pier and tough attitude.

He recently made a rad flick called Bending Colours and this is an outtake from that movie shot around Cape Town. That this flying section full of twist and torque ended up on the floor lends a clue to the gold in the central edit.

Question is: After a lacklustre (by his standards) 2012 on the ASP World Tour, will 2013 be the season he steps up and achieves all that his potential and talent promise?
