Light Offshore wind
Surf conditions at 7.00 a.m. on Good Friday 2013:
The 'nought to one' on the scale should read 'maybe' one, as in, 'flat to maybe a foot'.
Yep, it's that small.
Small enough to be wondering if this much anticipated Easter swell is another internet phantom.
But it's not. There's a thumping great 'low' out there and that is producing swirling waves and they are on their way to our shores..... in a minute..... or a day?
Patience my friends, patience! I reckon that by this afternoon's tide we'll be seeing some nice and clean lines rolling in but, as you already know, I am more often wrong than right when it comes to these things!
Anyway, right now, it's pretty much flat, the sky is overcast and that offshore wind hasn't lost any of its chill bite.
With the long Easter weekend about to happen, we have been busily opening boxes of exciting goodies, getting stocked for what promises to be a weekend of great surf (check our weekend surf forecast!) with chilly but maybe crisp and dry weather.
We still have loads of warm and snuggly beanies and jackets which can go out at bargain prices and we do still have a selection of Winter wetsuits, boots, gloves and hoodies for you, not forgetting the groms! We have a range of youth's winter wetsuits, with all those new summer suits just about to arrive too!
So why not drop in on us this Easter holiday, we might just have something to tempt you!
