About Cupsogue

From Shinnecock Inlet to Moriches Inlet, shifting sandbars can produce good waves, particularly at the West Hampton jetties. Cupsogue Beach Park has the long inlet jetty which provides some protection from the W winds. Needs a bigger swell to break near the jetty, but there will be peaks further up the beach if it’s small.

Very little access on this barrier island. A couple of town-sticker parking lots and 4WD beach access. Crowds sometimes congregate at certain spots along with local rip currents. Walking up or down the beach should provide empty waves.
