Stackpole Under The Stars
Our family-run campsite is like a little green oasis, tucked away behind woodland in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and yet only 10 minutes’ drive from the historic town of Pembroke. It’s the best of both worlds. If you’re seeking a place to unwind, in a quiet rural location but within easy reach of what others may call ‘civilisation’, we think you’ll love it.
We run a small, relaxed campsite with just ten pitches, set in the field alongside our home. Five of the pitches are set aside for are our own glamping accommodation and five are reserved for camping. Because of our size and the popularity of our location, we recommend booking for all pitches.
When you stay with us, you’ll enter the campsite grounds through a pair of rather splendid Grade II listed stone gate pillars. That’s because our home, North Lodge, was once the northern gate house to the Stackpole Estate. In the 1800s, carriages heading to the manor house, Stackpole Court, travelled along the tree-lined approach to Stackpole Under The Stars.
Although the manor house itself was demolished in 1963, the estate – including the beautiful Bosherston Lily Ponds – is now owned and managed by the National Trust. We have lived and worked in the Stackpole area for 15 years and bought North Lodge in late 2016. We count ourselves incredibly lucky to run the only campsite within the grounds of this historic estate.
It’s a truly special experience to lie gazing up at the night sky through the central roof wheel of one of our handmade yurts. Each one is a thing of beauty. Fully furnished, our traditional Turkmen yurts are luxurious for two, or will comfortably sleep four.
Bell Tent Glamping
Our bell tents are perfect for your first foray into glamping. They sleep two to four comfortably, and add that little extra luxury to your stay under canvas.
Luxury Glamping Pod
Your very own little boutique hotel suite out in the open. Our luxury, en-suite pod is deluxe level glamping…perfect for those who need a bit of persuasion (and plenty of home comforts) to sleep under the stars.
At Stackpole Under The Stars, we like to think of ourselves as small but perfectly formed.
Our luxurious bespoke shower and toilet pods have a real wow factor, while our little gypsy-style compost toilet is even gentler on its surroundings. There’s also a tidy wash-room, with double sink and fridge (washing machine coming soon). And that’s it. Your tent, van or glamping accommodation, a lush green field with a blossoming wildflower meadow and all you need to be clean and watered. Oh, and quick and easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world…
Tents, campervans, caravans, trailer tents – all-comers are welcome here. We recommend booking for our five spacious camping pitches, four of which have electric hook-ups available. For a traditional and chilled-out camping holiday in one of Britain’s most beautiful destinations, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, we reckon it’s hard to beat.
With our kitchen and our luxury shower and toilet facilities – or our little compost loo for those who like to feel at one with nature – you may just be camping in a pretty field, but we’ve added a touch of luxury on the side.
