Nick is a writer and journalist based in Newport Beach, Australia. For much of his career he has specialised in surfing and surf culture, subjects in which he is considered one of the world’s pre-eminent experts. He has also written widely across a range of other subjects in many media forms, including print, online, radio, tv and film. Nick’s work has appeared in diverse magazines and newspapers worldwide, from the Australian, the Sydney Morning Herald and Australian Financial Review to the London Telegraph, Village Voice, Outside magazine, Adventure Journal, and numerous others. He has been a writer and researcher on a number of highly successful tv documentary productions, including Bombora: The Story Of Australian Surfing (2008), Wide Open Road: The Story Of Cars In Australia (2011), and Blood And Thunder: The Story Of Alberts (2015), and has written several books, including the highly acclaimed memoir of brotherhood, “TC”. He currently writes and consults for a range of surf media outlets in Australia and overseas, is a qualified lifeguard, and surfs pretty much every day.
