The Endless Winter II crew lucked into classic Mundaka while filming for the second edition of the documentary series.
Taking the format of a classic road trip, Mark 'Egor' Harris is travelling from Cornwall to Morocco, charting the history of surfing across Europe as a follow up to 2012's Endless Winter.
Dropping into northern Spain, Mark joins Kepa and Eneko Acero, Natxo Gonzalez and Craig Sage as they score perfect waves – all in the name of the cause. There's no-one you would rather be filming with at Mundaka than this all-star cast of Basque Country warriors.
Mark said: ''Perfect waves at Mundaka! A crazy crowd but a lot of fun picking off some of the wider sections. So lucky to rock up to two days in Mundaka. Hard work to get a wave, let alone a perfect one, but a lot of fun trying. It was amazing to hook up with Kepa and see him and his brothers after so many years and paddle out with him after all his travels - it felt really special.''
The crew were out on Sunday and Monday making best use of gentle southerly winds on the latter, coupled with a north-westerly swell making for some epic conditions - which is actually a rarity for the month of April.
Kepa added: ''After spending a lot of time in the Galápagos Islands, it was amazing to come home for a Mundaka swell which is very rare in April and to share it with family and friends was perfect. It's really rare to score pumping Mundaka this time of year in April. The second time time I have ever surfed Mundaka as good as this for this time of year!''
