When it comes to travel and surf exploration, there's little who do it better than the Basque Country's Kepa Acero. Quite possibly our humble communities favourite nomad, Kepa's spent more time than most in remote, off the grid locales – while maintaining a hefty amount of time at his local favourite, Mundaka.
Like most of the rest of the world, Kepa's on strict lockdown. In fact, Spain has been for a number of weeks. And if Kepa can deal with being grounded for that amount of time, with no easy end in sight, then we all can, I guess.
Anyway, Kepa's next up in our Lockdown Situation series, that fires a few quick fire questions about the mundanity of staying at home, we've already featured Mick Fanning HERE and Kai Lenny HERE. So here's what Kepa's getting up to.
Hey Kepa! Where are you locked down?
I am in Getxo,Bilbao. Right in front of the waves.
That's gotta be tough. Who are you locked down with?
By myself.
Ok, when was the last time you surfed and where, how was it?
I surfed an amazing Sandbank, close to Sopelana, it was too glassy and super fun – about three feet.
What’s the best surf related thing you’ve seen on IG the past few weeks?
Kelly Slater riding his new board and surfing better than ever!
Last thing you ordered online?
I did not order anything in quarantine, but I would say it was a harddrive for going on my last trip to Africa during the last week of February.
Sweet, time for some rapid fire questions! Favourite MSW forecast to keep the stoke alive?
Hmmm, Pipeline. (See HERE)
