The World's best surfers have descended on South West France, dialling in their equipment in preperation for the Quik and Roxy Pro – the window of which, will officially open tomorrow.
France was blessed with a rifling swell this week in the run up to the ninth stop on the CT. So of course some of your favourite protagonists were on hand to capitalise, including John John, Mick, Jules, Kolohe, Michel Bourez, Medina, Parko and bonus Ross Williams to boot.
And here, we bring you a collection of snapshots from the shores of the sud ouest, spanning Hossegor's (and beyond) extensive coastline, from last weekend up until yesterday. Damn, doesn't Kolohe look like he's all kinds of the one to watch. Oh and right now, those classic la Graviere banks are looking good.
"August traditionally marks the beginning of the surf season for France, but this year it was different," relays photog Michal Pelka. "The swell was late, very late. As September drew to a close redemption came, finally. The first good swell of the year hit in the last week of September and it was clear to see last year's banks had survived. As the sand is just about to settle on the banks it looks like this year's season is something to look forward to."
